Which Aluminum for Our Aftermarket Doods?

Our aftermarket doors are made from 5182 aluminum alloy. This is the same grade used by some car brands for their original parts. It’s an alloy with magnesium and manganese, offering good strength and strong corrosion resistance.

Worker measures aluminum thickness with micrometer, quality control check.

For every batch of aluminum we purchase, we have strict quality requirements:

  • New Material: Must be produced within the last 3 months.
  • Factory Sealed: Must be unopened to prevent oxidation and cracking during stamping.
  • Exact OEM Thickness: Must match the original Tesla hood thickness for quality and safety.
  • No Recycled Aluminum: We only use new, non-recycled material to guarantee quality.

Meticulous Door Packaging for Secure Transi

We understand that safe delivery is paramount. Our multi-stage packaging process is specifically designed to protect your door during transit, focusing on common vulnerability points.

Tesla doors packing
Tesla doors packing safe
  • Enhanced Corner Protection: Doors corners are susceptible to impact damage and deformation. To combat this, we’ve engineered custom protection using a dual-layer structure of rigid EVA combined with soft EPE foam (pearl cotton). This packing provides superior shock absorption and prevents damage.
  •  Reinforced Bottom Edge Support: The same protective design is applied to the bottom edge of the door. By incorporating the supportive EVA layer, we prevent the inner foam liner from collapsing, ensuring consistent cushioning and protection along the entire base.
  •  Robust Outer Packaging: Each door is encased in a brand new, heavy-duty 6-layer corrugated cardboard carton.  For added security, the entire package is tightly secured with durable strapping, ensuring the box remains stable and robust throughout the shipping journey.

Common Aftermarket Door Installation Problems & Solutions

Aftermarket door installations may require adjustments due to deviations from OEM specifications. This guide covers common fitment challenges and their resolutions.

Door gaps are uneven, or it doesn't sit flush.
  • Loosen hinge & striker bolts. Adjust position (up/down, in/out, forward/back). Check gaps constantly. Requires patience.
  • Caution: Minor bends might be possible, but be extremely careful with aluminum – it cracks easily.
Holes for handles, clips, regulators, etc., are wrong or missing.
  • Compare to the old door. Carefully enlarge holes or drill new ones where needed. Measure first!
  • Tip: Deburr new holes & touch up paint to prevent rust.
Window movement is rough, or there's wind noise
  • Usually an alignment issue inside the door.
  • Fix: Adjust window regulator/track positions for smooth travel. Check that weatherstripping is seated correctly against the door edge.
The new door feels heavier/lighter or sounds different.
  • Expected if materials differ
  • Note: Affects feel. Sound difference is normal; add sound damping only if necessary (extra cost/effort).
Problems installing flush handles or internal sensors?
  • Check mounting points carefully for smooth operation.
  • Safety critical! Ensure mounting points are strong and in the exact OEM location.
Can I just scuff the black primer and paint?
  • Always sand, scuff thoroughly. Using a sealer or epoxy primer before paint is highly recommended for best adhesion and durability.
